“We’ve had our own fair share of celebrations recently - between birthdays & our anniversary in June and baby showers in July - but back in May I got to celebrate with THREE high school seniors as they were about to graduate! Let me go ahead and say… They are going to change the world. They’re already changing the world. …”
“Back in April I was privileged enough to photograph the Healthy Start Breakfast for Alliance Medical Ministry! If you haven’t heard of them, please take a look at their website, read up, and consider supporting them! I didn’t know much about the organization before the breakfast, but the speakers talked all about the impact this non-profit has on the health of our community members - and let me tell you - it’s a big one. They’re doing good things! …”
“Today I’m sharing a session I did in May near Baltimore, Maryland with some friends from college! Lauren and my husband Andrew were in the social work program together and did many group projects together back in the day. I was really excited when she said they were interested in getting photos before Lucas’ first birthday - It was the perfect excuse to go up to see them! We met at Centennial Park for the session, and that place was HOPPING with people running, having picnics, playing with kids, and even doing some juggling practice …”
“I’ve got to tell you their proposal story as we go along here, because Becky did such a great job orchestrating it. It’s also helpful that Alexan apparently trusts Becky very much! ;)
Becky & Alexan were on vacation at a relative’s timeshare-like rental house in the mountains of Virginia, at the beautiful Massanutten Resort. Becky woke Alexan up early Monday morning and said, “Let’s go on a date!” Alexan isn’t usually an early riser, but she didn’t question it, hopped up, and they were on their way! …”
“I’ve got a special blog post for you today… My posts usually feature photos I take of other people, but this one has photos of me (and my baby bump)! We’ve officially made it to 30 weeks of pregnancy, and it’s hard to believe that baby will be here sometime around 10 weeks from now! …”
“Alexan was really involved at Meredith throughout her time there. … She studied social work, graduated with honors, was in the Social Work Honors Society, was the president of the White Iris Circle giving campus tours, and was involved in the Cooperative Baptist Student Fellowship. She was also really into the various traditions at Meredith like corn huskin’. :) Whew - she must have been busy, but she rocked at all of it! …”
“I was dreading being in pictures from the photoshoot for our daughter's first birthday because I'm not usually comfortable getting my picture taken. By the end of the photoshoot I was so glad I decided to have my husband and me in pictures. It was so much fun to play with our daughter and have candid photos taken, and when it was time to pose I felt so comfortable because of Kelly's direction and laid back personality. I can't wait to have more pictures taken by her in the future!” - Alison
“Kelly is an amazing photographer who was both patient with my toddlers as well as talented - capturing so many of their personality traits thru her lens. It was a pleasure to work with her from start to finish and we look forward to working with her in the future!!” - Alicia
Last week I posted Hunter’s first communion photos! His mom Barbara-Ann had recently gotten engaged, so after we took photos at the church, we headed over to a park to do some engagement photos for her & her fiancé Scott. I love how they used this photo session for both purposes! They also ordered photo art that reflected both celebrations, so don’t miss photos of those at the bottom of each post!
Earlier this year I got to capture some portraits of a fun & sweet boy and his family as he was about to celebrate his first communion - meet Hunter! … We met at their church, the Catholic Community of St. Thomas More, and I was so thankful to see allll the beautiful natural light that their sanctuary has! I also love how little time it took for Hunter’s fun personality to start shining through. :) Gotta have some funny faces mixed in with the serious ones for Mom!
