Last week I posted Hunter’s first communion photos! His mom Barbara-Ann had recently gotten engaged, so after we took photos at the church, we headed over to a park to do some engagement photos for her & her fiancé Scott. I love how they used this photo session for both purposes! They also ordered photo art that reflected both celebrations, so don’t miss photos of those at the bottom of each post!
Earlier this year I got to capture some portraits of a fun & sweet boy and his family as he was about to celebrate his first communion - meet Hunter! … We met at their church, the Catholic Community of St. Thomas More, and I was so thankful to see allll the beautiful natural light that their sanctuary has! I also love how little time it took for Hunter’s fun personality to start shining through. :) Gotta have some funny faces mixed in with the serious ones for Mom!
“Isaac was turning two years old a few weeks after the session, so we were able to capture some fun photos to have on display at his train-themed birthday party! They ordered a gallery image of the next photo… You can see the completed gallery image at the bottom of the post!”
“I’m throwing it back to the beginning of March today, to share a grad session I had with Daisy! She is graduating from grad school at NC State this Saturday, and I’m so happy we were able to take photos together to help commemorate this momentous occasion! We also got her some super classy graduation announcements to send out to everyone - photos of those are at the end of the post!”
“We’ve already made it through 20 weeks of my pregnancy, and we’re halfway to baby! Again, how?! I want to say the first part of the pregnancy might seem to go faster than the second part because we didn’t know about it for the first 4.5 weeks & didn’t have confirmation until 6.5 weeks… but time will actually probably keep flying like it always does.
Anyway, hello friends! I just want to hop on the blog today to give you a quick (bump)date, in case anyone is interested!”
“…Today I’d like to introduce you to Tiya! This lovely lady is ALSO building a website soon, and I am so, so excited to see these exciting things come to fruition! Y’all, I’m your biggest cheerleader. What a great reason to need headshots! I’m also excited to show you Tiya’s photo session partially because we met up at the Raleigh Rose Garden and Little Theater for it. I’m looking forward to my spring mini-sessions later this month and in May, and both my May dates are in the Rose Garden! We had some pretty blooms for Tiya’s session, but there should be many more roses to enjoy later on in May, and I can hardly wait to see all the beauty. (Won’t you join me for a mini-session?!)”
“Danielle is starting a SUPER cool website that promotes the sharing of good and kindness in the world. When you experience kindness from someone, you’re able to go on the website and post a little blurb about what happened. There is so much hate and bad news in the media — the whole idea of this is to put more goodness out into the world and put motion and energy to GOOD things that are happening. I’ve loved the early sneak peeks that I’ve gotten of the website, and I’m excited to see it grow once it’s officially launched!”
“I posted on social media last week that at the end of this week I would share the first of 3-4 upcoming Light Creative announcements. These announcements will be made over the next couple months, and today is the first one!
I’m excited to say that it’s a very big announcement and one that will affect my personal life forever… Andrew and I are expecting a baby at the end of August!”
Allow me to introduce you to Jayne, Michael, Colin, and Mary Kate! Jayne and Michael had the last-minute thought to get some photos taken while their adult children were in town over the holidays last year, and Jayne wasn’t sure she’d be able to find anyone to help them out before Colin and Mary Kate headed back home to NYC. I am so thankful that she found me on Yelp and that we got to enjoy a session together on New Year’s Eve!
“If you’re in Raleigh today, you’re experiencing a rainy, rainy day. If you’re in Northern VA or father north, you likely have a snow day! Wherever you are, hopefully you’re able to stay cozy in your house. That’s the best part about in-home photo sessions - they’re not dependent on the weather! This makes them great for any time of year, and I am so thankful for that! We took these photos on New Year’s Eve, just one week before Oliver turned one year old. It was a chilly, misty day, but in-home sessions are awesome any day of the year!"
