“Kelly has been a delight to work with. Our family has used Kelly for our son’s Eagle Scout Court of Honor, high school senior portraits, and for a family outdoor sitting. Kelly possesses an artist's eye, and took into account our special requests, creating family photos we will always enjoy. Very professional and prompt in delivery of the final product.” - Rebecca Krauss
Hello, and welcome back to the Throwback Thursday blog series!
Today I'm sharing photos with you of another family who has come back to me for photography over and over again! There is nothing I love more than continuing relationships with people and serving them through photography over time; I love seeing people's growth, and I think it's really cool that they're seeing and participating in the growth of Light Creative, too!
Let me take you back really quick to the first few ways I served the Krauss family with photography (it is Throwback Thursday, after all).
Like many families seeking family photography, they realized it had been too long since they'd had a nice family photo taken, so they scheduled a family session with me. Getting the standard portrait for above your fireplace mantle is awesome, but I love to switch it up too, so we captured lots of great moments that day!
Their oldest son Nathan was also graduating from high school soon, so we took the time during the family session to get several featuring him by himself to use for graduation announcements.
In addition to sessions, I enjoy photographing events! Nathan and Matthew were in Boy Scouts and each earned their Eagle Scout Award. This takes lots of planning for and implementation of a large community project. Not surprisingly, they both had great projects and earned their awards! I photographed both of their Eagle Scout Courts of Honor (Nathan's actually took place about a year before their family session), and it was really neat to see some of the same people involved in the ceremony, three years apart.
By the time Matthew was a senior in high school, Andrew and I were living in Raleigh and settling in here. The Krausses live in Northern Virginia, but we met in the middle and got together for lunch and Matthew's senior photos! It was a great time to catch up with each other and capture some more memories!
These were taken in March 2017 in Lynchburg, VA. It's amazing how much more "grown up" Matthew looks here compared to our first sessions together!
Thank you, Krauss family, for making me your "family photographer" (eee, I LOVE that!) and even making it work when we don't live up the street from each other anymore!
And thank YOU all for sticking with us through this post and through this family's memories! See you Monday for our next photo art feature!
In light & love,
